Many homes are so small these days that we exert extra effort to make every inch count. We buy corner TV stands, storage boxes and closet organizers just to maximize every possible space. The one thing that we tend to ignore is attics or loft spaces, and this is a major mistake. These spaces are great for storing things that we need to use seasonally, monthly or even every weekend.

No More Using An Outdoor Ladder When You Use Wooden Loft Ladders

Probably the major reason why most of us are not fond of going up the attic more often is because of the difficulty in reaching them, especially when you have to find a ladder in order to go up. Imagine having to go to the garage to get the ladder then putting it back when you’re done finishing it. There is actually an easy way of reaching the attic. Even though you would still need to climb up, there is no more need to do bring the ladder every time as you can easily do it by using a retractable wooden loft ladders.

Even though there are aluminum ladders available in the market, wooden loft ladders are favored because they do not make as much noise as aluminum ladders do when they are pulled down. They are also tend to be sturdier and don’t cause as many pinched fingers. They also seem to be much easier to install.

Pull Down Wooden Loft Ladders

Most pull down wooden loft ladders can be bought in a kit, and installing them is relatively easy. You just have to make sure to measure the distance from the floor into the loft entrance to make sure that your ladder would reach. Of course, buying a wooden loft ladder and finding out too late that it won’t reach the floor is a lot of hassle. When buying a loft ladder, make sure that everything that you would need for installing it comes in the package. This includes the necessary fittings as well as the locking catch for the loft door. Loft ladders of good quality are fitted with locks which will hold and lock the ladder once the hatch is closed.

Once you successfully installed the loft ladder, try to close the hatch and check if it fits. Also make sure that the ladder doesn’t hit anything when the hatch is closed so that it can be closed perfectly.

Using wooden loft ladders is a great space saver not only because you could climb the attic to store your stuffs, but also because you don’t have to find a space to store your ladder. Ladders that are long are especially difficult to store, but you don’t have to worry about it once you have a loft ladder installed.
