The Best Cheap Kitchen Blender by Oster

Oster BCBG08-C Kitchen Blender

Our blender finally bit the dust this week and I thought I’d spend a little time researching which model might be a reliable and affordable replacement. I was shocked after doing some looking on the most popular consumer’s site how much the top rated blenders cost.  The top 2 models were both over $400.00!   If I was running a bar or maybe making smoothies full time, these blenders might be worth it.  But for the average homeowner, a four hundred dollar ice crusher is a bit overkill.

Fortunately, another blender was almost rated as high but instead only cost $40.

The Oster BCBG08-C rated very high and also has excellent reviews on Amazon. (Average of 4 stars).  Here’s a review that I liked and thought was helpful by a guy named zac thomas:

“It’s sweet! Feels a bit cheap in the controls, plastic buttons but who cares. The jar, sharp blades, lid are all exactly like my parents Osterizer they got for their wedding in the 60′s (which is still going strong). I make smoothie-whey protein shakes everyday (juices, yoghurt, apple sauce, whey protein, ice cubes, frozen strawberries-blackberries-blueberries, flax seed) all this stuff fills it to the top and the Oster made short work of it. Ten seconds or less. I think I kept it running longer just because I was used to my Kitchen Aid blender that I ran at multiple speeds plus pulse and still had chunks left over.
Anyway, it’s cheap, it’s basic, it works better than high dollar blenders. I blend daily, I’m totally happy. ’nuff said.”

I ordered mine up and it should be here in a few days.   Just thought I’d pass along this tip if you are in the market for a new blender.
