A pool deck or patio provides not only a good environment for swimming but also a great place to gather for outdoor parties or relaxing with friends on a cool summer evening. Ensuring that a pool deck is suitable for these activities requires the purchase of some good quality pool furniture.  Fortunately buying pool patio furniture that will last a long time isn’t that difficult and there are many different kinds of this outdoor furniture available to meet a customer’s needs.

If a pool deck is going to be a regular gathering spot for barbecues and other parties, the owner of the pool deck will want to have a table and chairs available for those who want to sit and eat poolside. Consumers have several options to choose from when it comes to outdoor pool furniture such as tables. There are inexpensive, solid plastic tables that are a good choice for informal gatherings.  Obviously plastic will withstand any type of inclement weather fairly well.   Glass-topped tables with metal frames are another option, and these tables are good for more formal gatherings or larger crowds.  These tables generally are of very high quality, so it makes a lot of sense to place them in an area where they don’t get abused.  A nice corner of your deck, patio, or pool area is perfect and keeps the furniture in tact.

If the pool deck is outside and uncovered, consumers may also want to purchase an umbrella to go with their poolside table. Such an umbrella is not as necessary if the pool deck is enclosed with a screened-in porch or if there is shade available under an overhang. If an  patio table umbrella is purchased, pool owners should be sure that they collapse it when it is not in use. Umbrellas that are left open can catch hold of gusty winds in the event of a storm and break or blow away.

When it comes to chairs as pool furniture, consumers will likely want  to purchase chairs that are fitting for whatever kind of poolside table they own.  Matching sets are common and often are sold together along side the tables. Often times, when purchasing the chairs as part of a set, they end up not being as expensive as if they were purchased separately.  Solid plastic chairs are often the best choice no matter if the table is solid plastic or glass-topped, however, metal chairs will look better.  One thing to be careful of is aluminum metal pool furniture on concrete patios.  I learned the hard way that aluminum is a very soft metal and when moved across concrete, it easily is worn away and scratched.  Avoid painted aluminum if you can.

A great option is wicker or wood type pool furniture.  Some very nice lounge chairs like the one you see in the picture are a very popular option that many folks might want to take advantage of. If desired, choose chairs that are adjustable and contain many cushions  made of weather proof fabric like vinyl, as these are likely to hold up best over time.
