Heat Your Pool Naturally With Solar Pool Covers

Maintaining a pool can be a difficult task to stay on top of with the daily testing, chemicals that need to be added on a regular basis and constant cleaning. Many pool owners look into specialty services that take care of all aspects of the maintenance for them. Others simply look into solutions that make keeping a pool up without the aide of a professional service a little easier and much cheaper. Popular solutions are floating treatment baskets that constantly disperse low amounts of chemicals where they float and help keep a more regular pH level in the pool. One of the best investments that a pool owner can make into their pool is a solar pool cover.

Using solar pool covers can be beneficial to all types of pools; in ground and above ground, heated and non-heated, indoor or outdoor.

Outdoor pools of any type and shape can benefit from using a  solar swimming pool cover for many reasons, namely to help keep debris out of the pool, a constant battle of all outdoor pool owners. In addition to helping reduce the amount of cleaning needed, using a solar pool cover will reduce the amount of evaporation an outdoor pool owner will experience. Pools in dry and windy climates are those most susceptible to evaporation and using a solar pool cover in these regions will greatly reduce the extra maintenance needed due to such conditions. Outdoor pools that are both heated and non-heated will also experience a warmer operating temperature while using a solar pool cover as they help trap the warmth of the sun while reflecting the UV rays.

Indoor pool owners will enjoy using a solar pool cover to increase the operating temperature of their pool, as well. Solar covers for pools can prevent water loss during the time the pool is not in use such as winter time for non-warmed indoor pools and during any significant length of time spent away from the pool. Using a pool cover on an indoor pool can also help reduce the amount of chemical evaporation into the air, making your indoor air quality healthier and decreasing the amount of maintenance needed.

Solar pool blankets are able to do so much for your pool because they are normally made up of a system of thousands of air pockets that are surrounded in a thick, durable plastic that can stand up to the elements for several years. The cover will help protect the pool from UV rays while trapping in the warmth under the insulating layer of air pockets. This will decrease the amount of water evaporation as well, as there is little air contact with the surface of the water, and will aide in reducing the amount of chemicals evaporated and needed to treat the pool each time.
