A drying rack is the most convenient, cost-effective and environmental-friendly way to dry clothes. Unlike a tumble drier, which consumes lots of electricity and also destroys the clothes, a drying rack conserves power as well as space. It is not only portable and durable, but is also low-priced and user-friendly. Furthermore, you have the option to install it either inside your home or outside in the garden or patio. Clothes that are dried naturally in sunlight and fresh air smell good and also typically do not require any kind of maintenance and ironing. Here are a few things that you should keep in mind while buying a drying rack.
Type- Different types of drying racks are easily available; from wall-mounted and ceiling-mounted to foldable and retractable. While the wall-mounted is fixed on the wall, the ceiling-mounted drying rack is installed on the ceiling; it can be lowered to hang the laundry and then again raised to allow the clothes to dry. Foldable, as the name suggests, can be folded and kept along the wall when not in use. Retractable drying rack consists of 3 to 5 washing lines that can be extended up to 4 meters. This kind of drying rack is usually installed indoors between two parallel walls. When not in use, the drying rack is retracted and placed on the opposite wall.
Style and color- As far as the style and color are concerned the options are innumerable, from conventional Victorian style to contemporary, and from grey, brown and black to red, blue and pink colors. You can choose any one on the basis of the décor in your home.

Quality- With respect to quality, the drying racks are sturdy and durable. If you intend to keep the laundry drying rack inside your home, then you can opt for either iron or steel. For outdoor purposes, steel rack would be a better choice.
Size- Drying racks are normally available in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. You can select any one of them depending upon the size of your family and the amount of extra space you have in your home. If your family is large, then you would need a large rack. A wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted or even a floor-standing drying rack would be good for you. However, if you don’t have adequate amount of space, then it would be better to go for foldable or retractable racks. A retractable drying rack with 5 washing lines that are about 4 meters in length can give you approximately 70 feet of drying space. Thus, you can dry all the families’ clothes without having to worry about creating extra space for the drying rack.
