You can place it inside your garage, home, or in your yard. For extra security, get a few cameras and place them in some of the most vulnerable areas of your home. The only benefit you can have from using fake cameras is that they can throw burglars off. Even so, you need to actually put up a real camera or two around other parts of your home.

There are a few things you need to keep in mind when setting up a home security surveillance system. Will you need a wireless or wired system? Wireless is the most popular option these days, although wired has its advantages as well. Some people don’t understand the way wireless technology works and feel more comfortable with wires. The option is yours, so make sure you choose whatever is most convenient for you.

Cameras aside, there are other types of home security as well. Take burglar alarms for instance: a long time ago, only wealthy homeowners could afford security alarms. They detect motion and send out a signal to the control panel for an analysis. If the movement is indeed something (or someone) that you may be suspicious about, you’ll be notified. Your budget is probably what you’re most concerned about. You’ll be surprised at how affordable home security gadgets are these days. If you spend some time shopping around, you may be able to get a good camera, alarm, and motion sensor for just a couple hundred dollars each! Some merchants also sell complete sets for less than $1,000. The only other expense you may have to worry about is installation, but if you have an adequate understanding of computers, you’ll probably be able to set up everything yourself.
